We are thrilled to announce the 1st Hawaii Week for the Animals presented by Animal World USA kicks off on December 5, 2009. The week will conclude on the following Sunday, December 13, 2009. See Calendar of Events page for details on events taking place across Hawaii during this amazing 1st Annual Hawaii Week for the Animals.

To see how other states have celebrated their weeks, please visit http://www.weeksfortheanimals.org/

Throughout the week, educational institutions, animal shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting scores of wonderful animal-related special events.  Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Hawaii will be joining in, creating and planning exciting activities to celebrate and help animals.
Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, shelter days, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, farm animals and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and nursing homes.

Also to be included are a salute to our canine military and police dogs, feral cat initiatives, animal law events, educational programs at the zoos, blessings for the animals, and full-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the always amazing animals!

Beautiful Hawaii teaches us about a special need to realize the environment is a precious form of life that we should engage in a mutually supportive fashion in order to protect the animals' habitat and celebrate life as a whole.  We are all connected and depend on the health of the planet. Hawaii brings that point home in so many ways.

Please become involved! Events are being planned now, and we need animal lovers everywhere in Hawaii to start planning so we can all collectivley participate!  See the page "Become Involved" on this website for lots of great ideas and suggestions on what you can do.

See the Calendar of Events for exciting events already in the planning,  and please note we will be adding events and activities right up to the kick-off of the exciting week.
